It is not about the Nuclear Weapons programs. Everyone knows nuclear weapons can be spread with or without controls. Most countries which have nuclear weapons never had them based on a consensus authorization of any International organization.
The present problem is much more pressing, and it has to do with the same things being done globally: Removing energy that cant be commoditized.
Wind and Solar, for the best they can be, there are of low efficiency for industrial use. You might be able to light streets and homes with it, but both volume and consistency, they are a threat to a model of market that rely on energy being part of the basic necessity of everyone, and coming from a form of fuel that must be acquired through markets and serve as potential leverage on economics and logistics.
It is not about Iran being able to make weapons grade nuclear enrichment, or being able to be a "threat". Other nations are, and they are mostly left alone. It is about a regional power which only drawback is the lack of substantial energy resources to become a multipolar point on the new World that is being built on it.
Energy, more than anything else, is something that holds the old order in place. Energy develops nations peacefully, energy develops industry, energy makes nations independent and sovereign.
Everyone is talking about Germany, or other Europe nations, but hardly anyone talks about the persistent attacks on energy everywhere else in the World.
In Brazil it was the programs for vegetable fuels and hydroelectric. We had our problems with Nuclear Energy too. In Europe is mostly having to buy from Russia, which was never a problem with Russia, but a problem with the West not having to rely on the USA.
The idea that Middle East can get energy without the USA closest allies, or itself, is almost as disgraceful for the USA as it is the fact that China and Russia are strengthening their position on energy markets on Asia.
As the USA is unable to join a multipolar World not based on energy dominance or the ability to wage wars, military or economic, it must remain the authority on who has energy for anything and is basically why most wars were fought.
It is not that they have the ability to make it happen, the needs of energy of the World, but it is about stealing or bullying your way into keeping others from going ahead.
And that is worse of all. It is not that nations are a threat to anyone, but that the people of the World must be kept underdeveloped so 5 or 6 nations can decide the futuro of everyone else.
And the worse part, most people on that coalition thinks it is fair.
